Peggy,
I'm sorry to hear your son is having SI joint problems. I'm in Arkansas so I can't help you with a PT in San Fransisco. I CAN tell you what I learned in my physical therapy sessions. Once the muscles in my lower back loosened up (they used some ultra-sound and massage) and I was able to resume light workouts, my therapist had me doing alot of core strengthening exercises. I've been without any problems since then (knock on wood) and hope to remain that way.

It can be frustrating since the SI joint problem masks itself as lower back pain. I thought I was throwing my back out when it would happen.

My son has been suffering with and SI joint problem for 18 mos, does anyone know a Physical Therapist in the San Francisco of Santa Rosa area that does specifically joint manipulation? He has been unable to sit and can only lay down or stand.

I'm glad you're doing better. Hopefully your physical therapy helps get everything strengthened back up.

Wishing you the best.
